Conklin is native of Tehachapi, Calif., and is a member of the embedded Provincial Reconstruction Team. Michael serves as a liaison officer with the United States Agency for International Development and Baghdad Provincial Reconstruction Team.

Multi-National Division – Baghdad soldiers questioned a “person of interest” Feb. 25, after a Sons of Iraq leader and his son were found murdered in the Mechanix neighborhood of Rashid District Feb. 24.
Following a report of the murders, soldiers of Company E, 2nd Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, attached to 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, found the bodies of the local SOI leader and his son in the SOI headquarters building in Mechanix. GRAFENWÖHR, Germany — A 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment soldier was killed in action Sunday in Baghdad, according to the Joint Multinational Training Command.Spc. Orlando Antonio Perez, 23, of Houston, died after coming under small-arms fire during a dismounted patrol in Baghdad, according to a Department of the Army information sheet released by JMTC on Wednesday.
The Company F, 2nd Squadron, 2nd Cav soldier will be honored at a memorial ceremony at Rose Barracks chapel in Vilseck on Friday, starting at 11 a.m., JMTC officials said.Read More
