DON STIVERS, one of the worlds premiere artists on the subject of US military history, and long time friend of the 2nd Cavalry and military community as a whole, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009, while undergoing a heart procedure.

Stable Call

[ May 17, 2010; 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. ] The 2d Cavalry Association will be conducting a Stable Call at the Patton Museum, Ft. Knox, Kentucky, at 18:00hrs, May 17, 2010, for registered attendees of the 2d Cavalry Association Reunion.

Final Armor Conference

[ May 17, 2010 to May 20, 2010. ] Ft Knox is closing down the Armor Center, and will be hosting the final Armor Conference May 17-20, 2010. Ft. Knox has been the home of the Armor Center since just after WW II. The Armor Center will be relocated to Ft. Benning, GA.

Volksfest Vilseck 13-16 May 2010

[ May 13, 2010 to May 16, 2010. ] Vilseck will hold its annual Volksfest 13-16 May 2010 at the airstrip and hangar on Rose Barracks, Vilseck, Germany.

Fall of the Wall Celebration — Moedlarueth (Little Berlin) Nov 9th 1400 hrs

[ November 9, 2009; 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. ] Nov 9th at 1400 in the town of Moedlarueth there will be a Fall of the Berlin Wall celebration. Members of 2/2 will be attending. 2/2 was the squadron that patrolled the area during the fall. The town has also been called “Little Berlin” because the wall actually ran through it.
