Memorial Rededication for Fallen Dragoons

On 22 July 2011 at Rose Barracks, Vilseck, Germany, the OIF/OEF Memorial for Fallen Dragoons will be rededicated with the addition of the names of the troopers lost during the Regiment’s 2010-11 Afghanistan deployment.

OPERATION SANTA KLAUS

The American Elevator Company has recruited the aid of the 2d Cavalry Association to supply Christmas packages to our Dragoons in Afghanistan through Operation Santa Klaus.

Following is a letter from the AEC:

We here at American Elevator Company are asking that you share in the joy of supporting our troops in Afghanistan by helping us with “Operation Santa Klaus”.

Items needed:
Wool hiking socks, hard candy, baby wipes, towels, new or used DVD’s, hygiene items, I tunes cards, magazines/books, gum, beef jerky, nuts, granola bars, etc., or anything you think a young American Hero would like.

Dragoons on ESPN Veteran’s Day

Thursday, November 11, 2010, ESPN’s SportsCenter will be broadcasting live from Grafenwohr Training Center all day with live feeds to the 2d Stryker Cavalry Regiment and attached 1-4 Infantry Regiment, currently deployed to Afghanistan, as well as 1st Armored Division deployed to Iraq.

There will be warrior challenge competitions with the winning team being awarded an ESPN trophy live on the air.

Keep your eyes peeled for Stetson’s from the Rear Detachment folks. Tailgate BBQ’s are encouraged among local participants.
