Arizona State University is sponsoring a Welcome Home Ceremony for all veterans who served our country in the Vietnam War.

Veterans will be greeted at the La Sala Ballrooms, ASU’s West Campus, on February 20th, 2015 at 7:00 pm.

A reception complete with food and drink will kick off the event.

Department of Defense Authorizes Service Stars on the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal

The Department of Defense announced today that effective immediately, service members are authorized to wear Service Stars on their Global War on Terrorism Medals (GWOT-EM) to represent deployments in support of approved GWOT operations.

Reed Museum Honored

Ryan Meyer, curator at the Reed Museum and Second Regiment of Dragoons Heritage Center, has been informed that the museum has been chosen to receive a prestigious award.

A message from Matthew J. Seelinger, chief historian at the Army Historical Foundation, stated that the Reed Museum has been chosen to receive a 2014 Army Historical Foundation Museum Excellence Award. The award includes a plaque and check for $1000.

We are pleased to see that Mr. Meyer’s hard work is finally starting to pay off. HOOAH!!!

THE LEGACY CONTINUES

With the return of the Regiment to Vilseck from their 2013-14 Afghanistan deployment and in honor of their service, artist Jamie Warner has released her newest print to represent the Regiment’s service past, present and future. Her latest print, “The Legacy Continues”, is now available for sale.

Jamie has graciously committed to a donation of 20% of all sales revenue to the 2d Cavalry Association’s Vilseck Chapter. “The Legacy Continues” is a limited edition of 500 numbered prints, 14” x20” in size. The sale price is $65.00, which includes shipping and handling expenses.
